Outreach Coordinator

This position will receive a monthly stipend of $1,200 for approximately 40 - 60 hours of work per month. Currently, we are hiring for three months, with the possibility of extension or renewal. We will have some virtual meetings to set goals and brainstorm ideas, and all other work can be completed on your own schedule. The ideal candidate should love art, be located in the New York City area, and be passionate about supporting queer and trans youth. And, most importantly, be creative in finding new ways to engage and motivate young people to attend our workshops.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase participation in our free workshops for youth.

  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, parents, and other stakeholders to expand the reach of our programs.

  • Assist in the creation and distribution of promotional materials, such as flyers, posters, and social media posts, to attract youth to our workshops.

  • Conduct follow-up surveys with workshop attendees, continue engagement with youth and/or parents leading up to and following workshops, and maintain records of all activities.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working in outreach or community engagement. While this experience could come from many sources– activism, politics, corporate job, etc.-- we are above all looking for someone who already has ideas on how to do youth outreach in NYC.

  • Is an artist or art-lover; cares deeply about supporting trans and queer young people.

  • Has exceptional communication skills, and is comfortable speaking with other organizations, youth, and the public.

  • Can work independently and take ownership of all aspects of outreach, while collaborating with the team as well.

  • Is interested in being part of an organization that is emerging and grassroots. We are looking for someone who is interested in joining our long term growth as a team.

To Apply: Please send a resume to qtartcamp@gmail.com. No cover letter is needed, but please feel free to ask any clarifying questions or share any relevant information about yourself and your experience in the body of the email. We look forward to hearing from you!
